SERVICE HISTORY, United Earth Marine Corps:
Entered United Earth Marine Corps at age 20, in the year . Graduated BCT from Parris Island Recruit Depot, with notices in his paperwork regarding 'extreme leadership potential,' 'extreme motivation,' 'cerebro-testicular reversal,' and other marks. Scored perfect 250 during marksmanship. Noted that it was likely due to the enhanced targeting offered by his facial tattoo. (See Section , Y'Karran Facial Tattoos)
In 2065, he was part of a Marine detachment protecting a small hospital in the Khyber Pass region of Afghanistan during continued issues with Augments. Due to his abilities, he was able to hold off oncoming Augment forces long enough that the hospital was able to be evacuated. For his actions and demonstrated leadership abilities, he was sent to OCS, where he excelled. By the age of 23, he had advanced to the rank of Captain, and was recruited into MARSOC's Special Intervention Unit. From there, he became a legend to both civilians and his own men. During the Incursions, when Earth was attacked by hostile alien races, he exemplified the Marine lifestyle and abilities, striking fear into any who faced him. Armed with a customized rifle, clad in custom powered armor, he was often seen wading through withering amounts of energy weapons fire to rescue stranded fireteams. During the Second Incursion, the company his father owned, in conjunction with three other weapons manufacturers, created the Rodger Young, as a last-ditch effort to gain ground from the invading forces. During this time, Captain Morris utilized the massive ship to devastating effect, performing surgical strikes and vanishing.
After the Incursions, it was decreed that cybernetics and cybernetically-augmented humans were a threat to the people and the United Earth Government. As a result, all remaining cyborgs were deactivated or cryogenically frozen. Captain Morris chose the latter option.
HISTORY, Starfleet:
In 2379, the cryo-ship containing Jacob Morris was found near the outskirts of the Alpha quadrant, running on low-power mode. The ship, containing one cryo pod and assorted equipment, was brought to the Starfleet base on . During a particularly intense firefight between Starfleet Security and one Dr. Julian Wurger, his cryo pod was damaged, causing it to automatically thaw him. Upon exiting the cryo tube, he was accosted by a Starfleet officer at phaser-point. This led the confused, combative cyborg to immediately assault and kill the officer. With the help of Julian, they left the base in a wreck, having SCRAM'd the reactor to ensure that the base became nonviable. After escaping, they captured a Romulan D'deridex cruiser, and piloted it to the Eagle Nebula, where the Rodger Young had been hidden by personnel opposed to Jake's cryo-freeze sentence.
As of June 3rd, 2379, Jacob Morris is a Starfleet Marine, rank of Colonel, by order of Admiral Jean-Luc Picard. Feared dead when the Rodger Young suffered a catastrophic meltdown near Deep Space L50.
Psychological Profile:
--DATA REDACTED BY ORDER OF ADMIRAL PICARD--
Other notes:
Colonel Morris eschews using the Starfleet issued Phaser, deeming it 'criminally ineffective' against hostile targets. To this end, he carries instead a modified 'Glock 21' model pistol, chambered in .45ACP. When engaging multiple enemies, he utilizes a Mars Military Industries Mod4 Bullpup Combat Rifle, chambered in .45Combat Rifle (11.43x65mm). He does not wear the standard Starfleet garb, choosing instead to wear a black leather jacket over a t-shirt, and camouflage pants in the Kryptek Typhon pattern, the same type of camouflage he'd been issued as a Marine in 2063. Additionally, during EVA, he wears, instead of a Starfleet-issued pressure suit, the same suit of powered assault armor he made famous during the Incursions.
EQUIPMENT:
MMI Mod4 Combat Rifle, chambered in .45 Combat Rifle. Direct Piston blowback operation. Fed by box magazines of 20 rounds. Semi-Automatic, cyclic fire rate of 700 Rounds Per Minute. Extremely dangerous.
Glock 21, Custom Model, chambered in .45ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol). An extremely old pistol, even by 2063 standards. Striker-fired, direct blowback operation. Slightly less dangerous than the Mod4 bullpup.
MMI 'Guardian' Medium Combat Trooper Assault Suit. Self-contained powered armor unit that utilized a novel metal that produced its own cycling energy field, making it extremely effective against enemies with energy-based weaponry. However, after approximately 4 phaser shots, the field would deplete, necessitating cover be taken. Armor is based on reactive\ablative armor, which enables it to take shots from even a Phaser Rifle without very much damage. However, after prolonged fire, the armor can be penetrated. Capable of keeping the operator alive through advanced trauma and extended operations, the suit uses a small hydrogen fuel cell to maintain power.

Y'Karran Facial Tattoos:
-The tech and tradition of a long-dead alien race to implant the subject with an artificial, symbiotic biometal virus, which propagates in the bloodstream. Different tattoos have different effects, based on their design, composition, and usage. Colonel Morris wears the 'Warrior Focus' tattoo, or the 'Sign of the Triple Arrows'.
-The 'Triple Arrows' tattoo enhances reflexive movements, perceptive abilities, and sneaking abilities, to enhance weapons accuracy, situational awareness, and stealth abilities. One thousand known wearers. Popular with Special Operations Personnel and hunters. Stylized as a trio of arrowheads, centered on the face and pointing downwards.
-Further Tattoos: Warrior Speed (Sign of the Blade), Warrior Spirit (Sign of the Nova), and Warrior Strength (Sign of the Hammer).
-Warrior Speed (Sign of the Blade) enhances balance, agility, and manual dexterity to allow for greater accuracy of control with a sword or other edged weapon, not to mention allowing quicker, more precise movements. Popular among fencers and other bladed weapon users. One thousand known wearers. Most often stylized as a human Roman Spatha sword, though other races have their own imaginings of it.
-Warrior Spirit (Sign of the Nova) enhances psionic control, effect, and focus to allow for greater manipulation of the world around the wearer with greater precision, power, and recovery. Eight hundred and fifteen known wearers. Stylized as two blasts forming a double helix.
-Warrior Strength (Sign of the Hammer) enhances physical strength, muscle tone, and skin density to allow greater impact strength and muscular power, enhanced endurance, and enhanced survivability in combat. Popular among boxers, martial artists, and construction workers. One thousand known wearers. Stylized as the Y'karran hammer 'Yllnijr', which bears extreme similarities to the mythical Hammer Mjolnir.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born on the Mars Colony in 2045, Jake was an extremely attentive student, and very deft with his hands. He had a tendency to explore, even when instructed not to, and by age 13 was on a course to fast-track into the Medical Department of the Olympus Mons Technical Skills School. At the age of 16, he was already assisting with complex surgeries. When he was aged 17, the young Jake Morris left home on a dune runner (small go-kart like machine. Extremely fast, no protection apart from a roll cage), intending to ride the Valles Marineris. He got roughly six miles from the base of Olympus Mons when a sandstorm hit. At this time, due to terraforming, sandstorms had much higher winds, and could be extremely lethal. Upon realizing his error, he attempted to make the climb back up the mountain, when he was engulfed by the storm. Quickly, he began to dig into the side of the mountain in an attempt to provide shelter, during which his left arm was reduced to a stump, and several pieces of rock and sand penetrated his body, shredding his lungs and heart, and indeed removing a large portion of his skin. Struggling to stay conscious, he continued digging into the mountain, when he fell down a service shaft into a long-defunct alien science facility. It was there he lost consciousness, protected from the storm. To his (and many other people's) amazement, he awoke no less than four hours later, the most severe of his wounds encapsulated by biometal, with his triple arrowhead tattoo in place. This allowed him to call medics out to retrieve him, which led to the discovery of the science facility and the biometal. After recovering (and receiving artificial lungs, an artificial heart, numerous skin grafts, and a cyber-prosthetic arm), he made several trips to the facility, discovering an alien book (the Codex Y'Karrai), and the purpose of the biometal that had saved his life. Within months, the colonists of Mars had all allowed themselves to be implanted, and wore the tattoos proudly.
When Jake turned 18, he advanced into the Olympus Mons Technical Skills School, and worked on multiple different projects at the same time, having new-found abilities and concentration. He graduated with a PhD in Planetary Colonization and Terraforming, a PhD in Theoretical Engineering, a Master's in Engineering, and a Bachelors in Gunsmithing. From there, he entered the Medical Department of the Olympus Mons Technical Skills School, quickly graduating with an MD in Emergency Medical Theory and Cybernetics. Naturally, this would've posted him at any hospital he could imagine, but he instead chose to go into military service. At his Drill Instructor's urging, he underwent the Marine Combat Enhancement Pilot Program, which gave him most of his remaining cybernetics, and had the side effect of slowing his body clock. Graduating Boot Camp, he was sent to the School of Infantry, and then to his original occupational specialty school, which at the time was 0311, Rifleman. After qualifying as Rifle Expert numerous times and being promoted to Lance Corporal for his leadership skills, he was sent to the Scout\Sniper school, and his MOS reverted to 0317, Scout\Sniper. During the Khyber Pass incident, he was the unit's designated Marksman. After those events, he was sent to OCS, graduated, and recieved the rank of 2Lt, which he retained for a short time, before being recruited into Special Forces and having his MOS changed to 0307. Upon promotion to Captain, he was sent to the Unconventional Warfare Training School, and his MOS changed once more to 0370 (Special Forces Officer). From there, he would continue to serve with distinction, even being taken into the secretive 'Special Intervention Unit' programs and becoming one of the most decorated Marines in history
After the Augments made their second big push, Jake and his team were sent on the offensive, locating and liberating population centers that were held by the Augments. With his cybernetics allowing him a higher grasp of CQC methods, he was quite a match for any Augment he came up against. He never killed them, despite his orders to the contrary, showing mercy and forcing them to swear to never return to plague Earth. Many believe this was part of the rationalization for him being put into cryosleep. When he faced off against the Augment known as Khan Noonien Singh, the two were equally matched in strength and ability. Their fight drug on for three weeks, with neither combatant requiring sleep or food to continue. Finally, people around Jake were able to goad Khan into following them, whereupon he was led into a cryo facility, stunned, and frozen.
During the 2090s, the human race was reminded that it was not alone in the universe. Following their attacks in 2055 and mysterious dissapearance, a warlike race with name unknown at the time assaulted Earth and her Colonies, with intent on wiping out or enslaving the human race. For the next 10 years, humanity fought a losing battle. But, for every defeat they suffered, they expanded their knowledge of their enemy, and were able to make a counterpush. Finally, with a last ditch effort, four companies, Mars Military Industries, Armstrong Technical Industries, Norseman Weapon Industries, and Sakura Technical Concern, created the Rodger Young, a behemoth of a ship. Her first battles were rather one-sided, with the ship managing to escape destruction, but soon she returned, performing surgical strikes and hit-and-run raids on enemy forces with overwhelming fire power, Marine support, and fighter cover, turning the tide of the Incursion. At her helm was Captain Bruce Fairchild, and leading her Marines was Captain Jake Morris. Between the two of them, and the 2500 Marines on board the Young, they were able to turn the tide of the assault, finally pushing the enemy forces out of Sol and chasing them away.
After the Augment incidents had been tamed down and the Incursions defeated, then-Captain Morris and his fellow cyborgs were given an ultimatum. Deactivation of their cybernetics, or cryofreeze, to be banished from Earth. Realizing that without his cybernetics, he would likely die, Jake chose to be put into cryofreeze. He was frozen on August 14th 2110, his birthday, and shipped into space on the spacecraft Iceberg, a small extended longevity exploration craft. He was not discovered again until 2379, when his ship was recovered and taken to the Starfleet lab on --REDACTED--. He was awoken when a firefight broke out between Starfleet Security Officers and Dr. Julian Wurger. Upon retrieval of his equipment, the two made a daring escape, SCRAMming the reactor of the base and damaging its backups, forcing a complete evacuation. From there, they fled to the Eagle Nebula after commandeering a Romulan D'deridex vessel, and recovered the Young, which had been hidden inside the nebula by personnel loyal to Jake and other Cyborgs.
Soon after, Jake was introduced to Starfleet and promised the aid of his ship to them. However, en route to their designated point near Deep Space L50, the Young underwent a catastrophic meltdown of its old, unstable reactor. Jake was one of the first casualties, being struck with a large beam. However, he, remembering his old struggle against death, managed to stave off consciousness by overclocking his cybernetics, which allowed him to successfully evacuate the engineers he'd been teaching about the reactor. This led the ship to collapse upon itself and ignite into a dwarf star, consuming 12 Borg drones who had been tasked with evacuating the crew. Luckily, they had been successful, perishing with the ship after getting the rest of the crew to shuttles and sweeping the ship for any others left aboard.
